promise:

i’ve decided to make a promise to myself.  (i don’t know what the official name of that is…is that called something?…is there a word for making a pact or a deal of some sort with yourself?…hmm…i’m sure there’s an easy word that i can’t think of for some reason other than it being midnight, me being up early this morning, and having inhaled bathroom cleaning fumes for the past hour…but, before i get too sidetracked with that, i was making myself a promise…)  self, i’m taking you out of the country at some point in the next year.  it’s been too long since that passport got any fresh ink.  destination search starts now.  i’m so excited.  i can’t wait for patagonia…i mean costa rica…no ireland…oh well, who knows where i’ll end up.  no one.  but it will be somewhere other than here…for a week or two anyway.
